Happy 4th of July

WE started our Holiday week-end on Thursday Night working at the Highland Fest as we have for the past 8 or 9 years with our friends, from 6pm to 12pm, always fun and we get to see friends and neighbors we normally don't see that often. On friday we went over to our friends house for a backyard cook-out at 12 noon, as 3:30 came around we started to gather up our camping chairs and cooler to go set up our favorite spot in the downtown Highland for the evening parade. You have to go early to save a spot or you will not get close. The parade started at 6:00 pm. While we were waiting the kids had corn on the cob, pizza, snowcones etc.... we have about 40 friends and family that join us as we watch the parade (we have to save a big spot)... LOTS OF FUN... after the parade as we were going to our car I received a phone call from my brother Tim and he said he was in town waiting for a text message for his next pick-up with his semi and was wondering if we could pick him up. The girls and kids went to the Highland Fest, we picked him up and then headed home.. He stayed for two nights...
On the 4th it was a rainy day so we just hung out at the house, Made a big breakfast, watched some movies, then had dinner... Zesa and K went over to P&T's family and had a cook out in the afternoon. After they got home we went outside and watched the fireworks from our drive way...no matter which way you were sitting we could see the fireworks from neighboring towns... it was so cool.. did'nt need to get in that traffic. Then Zesa, K, J, Tim, and I set off the fireworks that Zesa had bought and had our own little show... Tim got a call early this morning and needed to get back to his truck for three more hauls so J took him back early... we had a fun time with him... a great 2 days of fun... and a great time to think about our FREEDOM

Those pics are cute cute cute! So glad that Tim was able to spend time with you, holidays would be hard alone - you are a good sister and friend :) BTW, I want some corn on the cob - it looks good. Speaking of Tim, I made his yummy jalapeno/bacon/chicken Kabobs on the 4th of July - they were oh, so yummy!
