End to a good day

This day was good, I talked to Troy & Levi on the phone just as we were leaving for dinner... always love hearing from him...Tera got off work early because they had too many empty beds, so she joined us after all. WE went to Olive Garden and had a really good meal.
Lots of good presents to open, flowers delievered from my kids in Michigan... plenty
of Birthday wishes from my friends on Face book... e-cards sent from friends...phone calls from my daughter in law and Mattie this morning.... I really do have some wonderful kids, family and friends...End to a good Day

Today is my Birthday!!!!

Today is my Birthday, a little quite around here, we had Kevin last night, Paul picked him up this morning... Tera told me Happy Birthday as she left for work this morning because she had spent the night, but she has to work 12 hours today. Joe wished me a Happy Birthday as he was leaving, and Kim called to wish me a Happy Birthday. We are going out tonight with Paul, Kevin ,Teresa, Kaya, & Joe.. not sure where. Lots of my facebook Friends have wished me a Happy Birthday already. My co-workers from Kmart surprised me with a Cake yesterday, they gave me some gift certificates to some good restaurants. A little sad that I won't be getting my favorite phone call from my DAD this year... he always called me on my Birthday... and the last couple of years I got one two weeks earlier on Connie's birthday, because he would dial the wrong number... then say oh sorry I'll call you back in two weeks. I do miss that man!!!!!!!! the picture I posted is old, but I like this picture of Joe & I. 52 that's a BIG number seems old , but I don't feel old.... We will make it GOOD day... When Mattie called she whispered I love you and Happy Birthday... Tera asked Kevin last night if he new what Tommorrow was... he thought a minute and she said granny's Birthday... he said CAKE....just got a knock on my door... and these flowers arrived from ...Troy, Kim, Levi Bailie and Mattie.... and Kaya made me a cute Birthday wish on video!!!! Love this family of mine!!!!!!!!!!!

She inspired me!!!

Earlier this summer I had planned to put some color in my home. Even though we had painted every room when we moved in, Joe wanted more color... so I bought paint and planned to paint for the few days that I was off. Then Bailie decided she wanted to come home with me. She went to Tera's the first two days she was here so I thought I could still get the painting done then spend the rest of the week with her. It's always more work than I think. Needless to say I was not done when she got to our house. I asked her if she would mind if I finished up the paint then we could spend the last part of the week doing something. I started and she ask if she could help, so I covered the basement floor with plastic, put one of papa's old T-shirts on her and asked her if her would like to paint my picture frames from my room. She was so happy to do it. After sometime of painting she was done and wanted to do more. I was still painting in the dining room, so I asked her if her wanted to start in my room. I had saw in one of my decorating shows, how they had taped off patterns then painted the pattern to make a design on the wall. I thought it would be cool to try it. Bailie and I decided to make a pattern that would frame color around some of my picture frames in our room. I taped them off and she was going to paint it NAVY, SAGE & BURGUNDY. I put plastic on my carpet and told her we had to be very careful not to spill the paint, so I gave her a small roller and told her I was only going to put a small amount of paint in her paint pan .. then she could tell me when she needed more. I checked on her often, then I it got very quite in there , so I thought I would go check on her. When I walked in she was wiping the wall off, and I said what's up Bailie... she started crying and said she spilled it on the wall and was afraid she would be in trouble. Because she was trying to get it off for such a long time it had dryed on and would not come off. I told her it was okay and could fixed it later. We took the tape off the designs we had made, but the smear was under the square we had made. Well anyway we never got to finish everything with all the trips we made to Michigan this summer so yesterday I fixed the wall. I decided to fix the smear and paint the whole wall NAVY... I really like it thanks to Bailie, if she had not made that smear on the wall, I would not have painted the whole wall.

She is just full of it

Yesterday Teresa went to the store, so it was just Kaya and I for a little while. She was being so good, Teresa had told her to pack her backpack because they were going to spend the next couple of days with Tera. I was in the kitchen trying get the house cleaned up. We got this new vacuum and I have not figured it out yet and could not get it apart so I could use the hose. I laid it on the floor so I could have Teresa help me figure it out when she got home. When she got home I told her I was having trouble with it, but she was not sure how to do it either. I went to get the mail and Kaya started messing around with it and fixed it for me. I said how did you you do that????????
She said I'm SMART.. I'm KMART SMART....next thing you know a kmart commerical came on and she said see where I got that from. She is just getting so smart... she watches all those kids programs. The other day she was watching one of the cartoon that was teaching about decay.... such as fruit if you let it set to long it will decay... but that's not bad, they said because decay helps other plants grow if you make compose
and put it back into the ground. Then you can grow new plants. She is now obsessed with DECAY. Then next show was about GERMS and she learned about GERMS..... obsessed about GERMS... she is so funny.
When she moved here a year and a half ago, I could hardly understand a word she said...now she is always telling me something new she learned. CRAZY COUSIN KAYA

After one year of Bloging

On September 14, 2008 I tried to start my first Blog entry, but was interrupted by the
rain that was flooding my basement. What a day that was and the days to follow.......
The reason I started this blog it was to write about the BEST of my life, but it has'nt always been the case this past year. What a year it has been to say the least...... It's been a very hard year and a half. WE found out my Dad & Father in law had cancer or that cancer returned in another area.... They both fought a hard battle, but in the end
I lost two of the BEST men in my life....Two very good friends of ours both in their 50's past away also, and my brother in law's father was gone in a blink of an eye. I can't even begin to tell some one how hard this last year in a half has been. Writing things down has helped.. and at times was very helpful.. sorting out feelings, remembering... in all that has happened good things have also been a part of my life.
Teresa and Kaya came to live with us and have brought sunshine to our everyday life just having them here. We went to two of my Nephew's Wedding's and am so glad my dad got to go... I had a whole week with Bailie this summer that I really enjoyed... the visits we had with Levi, Kim , Mattie & Bailie at Easter...there is more but if I don't enjoy the BEST things in LIFE...the hard things would be even harder.... I am going to blog a little more often then I did because it does help... I really do enjoy talking about the BEST of my life

Happy 12th Wedding Anniversary

Today is Troy & Kim's 12th Wedding Anniversary.... Such a great couple, they were made for each other... I think God created her for him... sometimes I think about the
moves we made in our life and wonder if we made the right choices to move to Indiana... and then I realize she was one of the reasons it was a good move... Troy would not have this wonderful, beauiful person in his LIFE if we had stayed in Michigan...

These three beauiful grandchildren they have given us...These are the BEST things in life..Your a GREAT couple and we love you!!!!!! Have a great 12th Anniversary

GOING TO THE DENTISTS FOR THE 1ST TIME

Today was the first time Kaya went to the dentist, at first she was a little afraid
to go, we explained that they were probabaly only going to show her around and to show her the tools they work with






When they took her in, she told Teresa that Mommy's had to wait outside,
the room was like a big fish tank...





When she got home,she told me about how much fun she had and she was not scared
